Just a little Green and gray pinstriping on a white Ford F-250 that I completed for a customer who didn’t like the “standard” stuff that it was equipped with when she purchased it from Trucks Only. She had the old pinstriping removed and brought it to me to apply what you seen now.

In the very near future I’ll be adding more items to the storefront. Pinstripe artwork, stickers, one off shirts and maybe some prints. This piece in particular will be up for grabs so get some scratch together…. first come first serve!

USA Speedskaters with Pinstriped Suits

20140219-101631.jpg

If you hadn’t noticed yet, at the 2014 Olympics this year in Sochi, US speedskaters are sporting new high-tech suits created by two companies, Under Armour and Lockheed Martin, which feature some very bold pinstriping. In the search to create the world’s fasted suit somebody decided that nothing was more American than “flat” black and hotrod pinstriping!

Bold Statement

What a difference a simple pinstripe can make! Just make sure you know the correct placement, color and thickness of stripe to paint. Subtle changes in these elements can make BIG differences in the appearance for better or more often worse, changing the whole impact of your project.
Scott brought me this Suzuki tank from his cafe racer that he recently dressed up with paint and was looking for something simple. This is what he got!
Cost: Minimum charge of $80

GNRS 2013

I just attended my third consecutive Grand National Roadster Show and I gotta tell ya, if you haven’t been, start making plans to attend next year because it’s one hell of a show. This was its 64th year and I was more than happy to be there even when the rain washed out the cruise in portion of the show which happens on Saturday/Sunday. Previous years I had gone as a spectator and when I started thinking of making the trip this year I discovered that East Coast Artie was now directing the pin-striping charity portion of the show and that some expenses were paid to help pinstripers attend and partake in the event. I have had the pleasure of meeting Artie at SEMA years past and sent him an email asking if there was still room for another striper and lucky me, there was!
I’ll finish this up by saying everyone I encountered and met at the show were a swell bunch of guys and galls! So here are some of the pics I thought turned out well enough to edit and post, not a lot, just enough to wet your whistle and make me plan a little better for next years show so I can spend a little more time looking at cars and still do a bunch of striping!

New Cards!

I just got the new business cards in and I gotta tell ya, I think they look great! The best ones I’ve done so far. I took a different process at creating these unique little guys this time around. The pinstripe design featured on the front is an exact copy of an original design that I created for this card. Yes exact size an color! You can see the small imperfections unique to hand pulled pinstriping that gives it more character than a computer generated design. I’ll be out at the Grand National Roadster Show next weekend with these things so come find me and grab a couple!

Orange Muscle

When Josh sold/traded his bare metal xs650 for this ’91 FXR he went with a very different look. Clean and Simple! It’s got that muscle car look to it so when he called me up for some pinstriping, this time around, he wanted the less is more treatment. Just an accent kind of thing. I could see the look he was wanting to accomplish and this is what we came up with. He brought me the tins right after he had them sprayed orange and clear coated so I laid out the black stripes in 1Shot, called him when they were dry and that’s all she wrote. Till the next one!

Frenchy’s “Hot Rod Lincoln”

I never get tired of seeing Frenchy’s 1932 ford. Mostly cause it boasts a Lincoln V 12 and has some great detail work. I also had the pleasure of painting a couple pin-ups on it last year and a whole bunch of pinstriping before that. It even has a little bit of hand lettering. I was going through my pictures the other day and ran across this one i shot of So-Cal Speed Shop’s founder, Alex Xydias sitting in the drivers seat and decided I should share it with you. This was taken last year in front of So Cal Speed Shop of Arizona here in Phoenix.
